Takao started his IP career in 1999 at a Japanese IP firm with a focus on Japanese clients for 6 years. Afterward, he has 8 years of experience handling intellectual property rights prosecution, litigation, and enforcement in a video game company and an online game company. Takao’s practice focuses on all aspects of trademark practice including trademark search, prosecution, opposition, cancellation, licensing, negotiation and enforcement, and copyright related matters for domestic and foreign clients.
Prior to joining BORDERS IP in 2018, Takao worked for Shiga International Patent office, one of leading IP firms in Japan where he advised Japanese clients regarding trademark searching, filing, opposition, negotiation, enforcement and customs seizure matters for 4 years.
